Point of Salefor WooCommerce

Built on WooCommerce. Nothing you rely on changes.

The register sits on top of the WooCommerce store you already run. Your products, stock, tax, coupons, customers and orders stay exactly where they are, and the counter is added on top.

One store, three layers.

WordPress runs your site. WooCommerce runs your store. The register adds the counter, and leaves the layers below it as they are.

  1. The register

    Sits on top of WooCommerce

    • Ringing up sales at the counter
    • Card readers, cash drawers and receipt printers
    • Registers, locations and staff approvals
  2. WooCommerce

    Your store, unchanged

    • Products, variations and stock
    • Tax, coupons and customers
    • Orders, refunds and Analytics
  3. WordPress

    Your site and database

    • Staff logins, users and roles
    • Your theme and your other plugins
    • One database on your own hosting
The register reads and writes the same WooCommerce data your website does. There’s no copy of your store to keep in sync.

What stays the same and what the register adds

What stays exactly the same

  • Your products, variations and categories
  • One stock count for your website and your counter
  • Your tax settings
  • Your coupons
  • Your customer accounts
  • Your Orders screen, with register sales in it
  • Refunds, made the WooCommerce way
  • WooCommerce Analytics
  • Your theme, your plugins and your hosting

What the register adds

  • A register for tablets and computers at the counter
  • Stripe Terminal card readers
  • Cash drawers, floats, blind counts and Z reports
  • Receipt printers and receipt email
  • Locations and registers
  • Supervisor approval with a PIN
  • Training mode for new staff
  • A register designed for screen readers and low vision

Online and at the counter, the same store.

Here’s how each part of WooCommerce works when you sell in person.

Products
The register sells the products you already have: simple and variable products, their variations and categories. Barcodes match each product's SKU and WooCommerce's GTIN, UPC or EAN field. Private products, such as staff-only items, can be sold at the register too.
Stock
There's one stock count. A sale at the counter and a sale on your website take from the same number, and a return can put items back in stock.
Tax
Prices are worked out by WooCommerce's own tax calculation, using each location's address. Tax-exempt sales are recorded on the order with the organization and certificate.
Coupons
Your WooCommerce coupons work at the counter, usage limits included. You choose which codes a cashier can use without a supervisor.
Customers
Customers are ordinary WooCommerce customer accounts. Find one by name, email or phone, or create one at the register. Most sales need no customer at all.
Orders
Every register sale is a WooCommerce order, marked as a register sale with its location and register. It shows in your Orders screen next to your web orders, and works with WooCommerce's high-performance order storage.
Refunds and returns
Returns are WooCommerce refunds. Web orders can be returned at the counter too, refunded through their own payment method or in cash from the register.
Emails
WooCommerce's own order emails are off for register sales, so a walk-in customer doesn't get an online-order email. Turn them back on in one setting. The register's emailed receipt always works.
Analytics
Because register sales are ordinary orders, WooCommerce Analytics includes them. Practice sales from training mode also appear there until they're deleted after seven days.
Staff and logins
Staff sign in with their WordPress login. The plugin adds a cashier role and a supervisor role, and store managers and administrators can do everything.
Stripe
If you already use the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway, the register can read its secret key, so there's nothing to enter twice. You can also keep the key in your site's configuration instead.

Your site keeps running as it does.

Your theme and your other plugins carry on as normal on your website. The register opens on its own page, and that page loads none of their scripts.

That’s deliberate. The register handles money, so only its own code is allowed to run there, under a strict content security policy. A slow or broken script from somewhere else can’t hold up a sale or reach the register.

Your data stays yours.

  • Nothing to sync

There's no second catalog and no separate back office. It's all one WooCommerce store.

  • In your own database

Register sales, cash drawers and reports live in your WordPress database, on your hosting.

  • Safe to remove

Deleting the plugin never removes your orders, products or customers. Its own data is kept too, unless you choose to delete it.

Works with

The current releases of WordPress and WooCommerce. Your license keeps it up to date with them.

Moving from FooSales?

Your products, stock, orders and customers are already WooCommerce data, so there’s nothing to move for the register itself. You keep your Stripe Terminal readers, too. How to switch
